A critical flaw in ProFTPD (CVE-2024-48651, CVSS 7.5) allows unauthorized root access via improper handling of supplemental groups in mod_sql. Affecting versions 1.3.8b and earlier, the issue can result in system compromise if supplemental groups aren’t explicitly assigned. Immediate patching is advised to mitigate this vulnerability.
